‘Tumechill’ Campaign is a Flop - Study

Even after the US dedicated Ksh 75 billion to put across adverts in different types of media and teenage education advising them to exclusively abstain from sex, a study by Mathematica Policy Research has found out that the effort did not bear any fruit ten years down the line.

Instead, the researchers found out that teenagers who were actively involved in the campaign behaved exactly the same as those who were never exposed to this kind of education as far as sexuality is concerned.
An aggressive campaign seeking to have teenagers exclusively abstains from sex until marriage has failed, according to studies.

The Lola Kenya Screen Film Festival

The fifth edition of the Lola Kenya Screen Film Festival is here once more and the call for submissions of films for the annual event that is to take place in August, 2010.

Lola Kenya Screen Film aims to create teamwork that bridges the generation gap.  Adults may not necessarily understand what the youth or the children want unless they involve them in processes and this is what this annual event is all about.

Whether it is in taking baby steps in projects or personal development, the youth and children are the ones who know how it is to live in society as times change and are therefore given a voice through the films.
