Video: A Haiya! moment with Hip Hop artist, Rabbit

Open mic is WAPI's saving grace

By Lydia Njeri

This month WAPI was held at Sarakasi dome in Ngara for the second time. But, the idea of moving from an open air venue to an enclosed place has not settled in well with the fans and WAPI artists.

Wapi is the only solid Hip-Hop event where fans go to listen to the best of local hip-hop acts,so the organizers should do their best to keep the event above water.

Eudiah Kamonjo

Haiya!: When did you discover that you had a passion for music??
Ras Luigi:
It actually began in church. I was 12 years old and in primary school when I started singing in church. I also loved listening to music and learning Taekwondo. In High School (Buruburu High School), my love for Taekwondo went hand in hand with my love for music. I would lock myself up somewhere and use an improvised microphone. I also loved playing football and was nicknamed Luigi after the Italian player.
