Osogo Winyo loses close friend

It has been a long traumatic month since we ushered in 2010 considering the stench of death all over the place.

Considering the deaths in the Haitian quake, the deaths of those onboard the Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed, and even the road carnage in Nairobi, the rumors about Osogo Winyo’s (John Okinyi) death have been flying back and forth and shocking many fans.

The rumors however hit close to home because Osogo has lost one of the most important people in his life.

The singer whose stage name means The Weaverbird, burst into the limelight after releasing his first album ‘Ageng’o’ that saw him earn himself a Kisima Award nomination in 2008.

In a previous interview with Haiya!, Osogo revealed that he owes his entire success to his friend Ageng’o with emphasis on the fact that the song he sang about him (Ageng’o) became a hit, making him even more indebted to his late friend.

Osogo

To allay fears of his supposed death and also despite the loss of his close friend Ageng'o, Osogo is travelling back to Nairobi, to prove that the show must go on and I am sure his performances will be full of dedications to the late Ageng'o featuring his Kisima Nominated hit single Ageng'o Wuod Orongo from the album Ageng'o in memory of Ageng'o his late friend.  He will be performing at Mayaka in Kariobangi South on Friday 29th, Saturday at Webs (Umoja Caltex) and for the coastal fans, February 6th and 7th, Osogo will be coming your way.

When did Osogo die?

Hi, Am afraid because the headline of the original story declares Osogo's death, yet the content says other things. Do you wish him dead? Did you enjoy putting up such a headline - Osogo Winyo is Dead? Put yourself in his shoes, and imagine of such a headling in any king of media including a mere telephone call that you are dead. Will you celebrate that? Please next time make sure that your headline does not give a different meaning from your. N.T
